The Run for Her is an annual fundraising run for ovarian cancer in Collingwood, Ontario, Canada.
Starting as a solo half-marathon in 2020, the Run for Her has grown to a multi-distance trail race event and education/ advocacy initiative involving collaborations with local companies and the patient community.
100% of donations to the Run for Her go to Ovarian Cancer Canada, the only national charity dedicated to overcoming the most fatal cancer affecting women and people born with ovaries.
To date we have raised more than $120,000 for this important cause. We hope that you can join us in 2026!
We are looking for like-minded partners to help us grow the Run for Her and its impact.

We are looking for up to 20 12-15-year-olds of all genders to join our motivated crew of youth volunteers.
The Run for Her is dedicated to raising funds and changing outcomes for all people with or at risk for ovarian cancer, including those who identify as members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
Our event name, Run for Her, honors the fact that ovarian cancer is an important - and often overlooked and underfunded - women’s health issue.
But ovarian cancer does not just impact people who identify as women. It also affects people with diverse gender identities, including those in the trans and non-binary communities.
Every person born with ovaries has some degree of risk for ovarian cancer.

Collingwood native Alicia Tone founded the Run for Her in 2020 as a passion project. Alicia has been in the ovarian cancer research field for more than 20 years - she has a PhD in ovarian cancer biology from the University of Toronto, a post-doctoral fellowship in ovarian cancer genomics from the BC Cancer Agency and was a Scientific Associate at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto for 7 years prior to joining Ovarian Cancer Canada in 2019. As Director of Research at the only national ovarian cancer charity, she works closely with scientists, clinicians and patient advocates across Canada to drive research progress and change ovarian cancer outcomes.
The Run for Her volunteer organizing committee formed in 2024 and now consists of 7 local women and 2 youth volunteers dedicated to the cause:
